Club Ninety Six is a private beach club on Palmilla Beach — dining, pool, and beach-club infrastructure that villa marketing loves to name-drop. What renters actually get is simpler and stricter: access is property-dependent, not automatic because you are “in Palmilla.”
If a listing says “near Club Ninety Six,” that is geography. If it says “includes Club Ninety Six,” that must be confirmed on the lease for your dates.
What the club is (and is not)
Opened in the mid-2000s as part of the broader Del Mar / Palmilla residential world, Club Ninety Six functions as a members-oriented beach club rather than a public day pass for Corridor tourists. Public materials and older rental blogs describe guest privileges tied to specific villa programs, owner memberships, or community arrangements — often with per-day fees, age rules, or dress/behavior norms.
It is not:
- A substitute for your villa’s private pool
- Guaranteed with every oceanfront Palmilla rental
- The same product as Palmilla Golf Club membership (different door, different rules)
- A nightlife venue for marina bachelor energy
Confirm before hold — the short checklist
Send this to the property manager before you take a $500 hold on “club access”:
1. Does this villa’s rental include Club Ninety Six access for our guest list and dates? Yes / no / limited.
2. What is included vs à la carte? Beach chairs, pool, dining minimums, spa/fitness if any.
3. Fees per adult / child / day? Who pays — guest folio or villa package?
4. Registration process — wristbands, names list, advance reservation for lunch.
5. Quiet hours / celebration rules — soft curfew homes and club dining do not always align.
If the PM answers with a marketing PDF from 2017 and no date-specific confirmation, do not brief the principal that the club is “included.”
How this interacts with enclave choice
Homes in or near Villas del Mar are often geographically closer to the Palmilla Beach club scene; Punta Bella / Palmilla Sur homes may trade that proximity for cove privacy. Neither geography equals access. See Punta Bella vs Villas del Mar.
Golf is a separate ops problem after January 2025 — read the golf note so your shortlist does not stack two stale amenity bullets.
